June 3, 2023, marked a somber day for all who knew and cherished Edwin (Ed) McAmis. It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of his passing, and bid farewell to a remarkable individual who left an indelible impact on our lives. Ed is survived by his partner of 27 years, Gerson Gonzalez, his son Bruce and daughter-in-law Karen, 3 grandchildren, a sister, two nieces, and several cousins.

Ed was more than just a beloved friend, and esteemed community member; he was a beacon of light, compassion, and generosity. His unwavering commitment to making the world safer resonated with all who had the privilege of knowing him. We remember Ed not only for his warm smile, infectious chuckle, kind heart, and unwavering spirit but also for his role as a trailblazer as the very first private donor to the YES Institute.
