Priority 2: Grow and Diversify Revenue Streams

We seek to grow annual revenue by 14% in 2028 compared to expected revenue in 2026, so that we are financially able to fulfill Priorities 3 and 4, adequately address anticipated increases in COLA and other inflationary costs, and protect and preserve our Emergency Fund and Investment Accounts.

Given current macroeconomic uncertainties, changing trends in foundations, and potential state and federal regulatory changes for taxpayer-funded grants, YES also seeks to strategically adapt and evolve our fundraising and development approaches.

Priority 3: Develop Personnel Capacity

By December 31, 2028,

3. A. Hiring, onboarding, and staff transition handoff process will be underway for one staff leadership position, due to a 2029 anticipated retirement horizon. Other appropriate staffing is coordinated to ensure administration, fundraising, and donor development functions are robust and functioning.

3. B. The YES Board of Directors will maintain a minimum of 9 members and will reflect an appropriate mix of skills, experience, and business and social relationships to effectively provide governance and oversight to the organization as it heads into the 2029 fiscal year.

  • 2026 Actual = 8 Total Board members as of July 21, 2026.
  • 2025 Actual = 7 Total Board members.

3. C. The YES Board, along with the Executive Director, will complete the internal succession role-planning and documentation project, ensure regular updates are included, and develop an internal reference guide for all key infrastructure-critical functions.

Priority 4: Grow Engagement and Advancement

To grow engagement and advancement, YES seeks to develop and implement a Marketing Plan to reach new audiences and grow and diversify contract revenue sources. This priority will help YES be more widely known for (a) client family resources and educational workshops, (b) professional development workshops, workforce and HR development, and (c) lifelong learning offerings. Our unique, highly rated communication, leadership, well-being, and professional coaching programs and services are well refined; the priority is to expand awareness of what we offer, which ties back to Priority 1.

By December 31, 2028:

4. A. The Marketing Plan and paid contract work growth plan are underway. Paid work contract dollar amounts will be used as a metric to track progress toward intended goals. Ongoing analysis of the marketing plan and its impact on paid contract revenue will be conducted.

Web and online integration with back-end functionality and internal CMS systems is linked. (Last website update was in 2021, funded in part by an Allegheny Franciscan Ministries grant).
