Today’s Leaders

Young people are standing for their truth, being the catalyst creating opportunities for their peers. One of the goals of our Youth Advocate Leadership Council (YALC) program is to develop the inherent leadership of young people, and two high school seniors have made local and national news.

 

Liana is the President of the Gay Straight Alliance at her school and leads with integrity and empathy. Liana created visibility at her school by organizing hundreds of students to voice their concerns in a peaceful manner. Liana’s actions garnered attention by local and national media. Neptune runs their own organization, along with volunteering in the community, and was recently awarded the prestigious Silver Knight Award. Neptune stands in their purpose by being courageous in the face of adversity and speaking up for youth of diverse gender and orientation experiences.
