Learning Objectives A Communication Called “Bullying”

  1. Recognize how gender biases may impact interactions with children under their care. 
  2. Be able to reference the current research on gender and early childhood development. 
  3. Critically examine and assess the classroom environment and curriculum for gender binary vs. gender egalitarian instruction, themes, and role modeling. 
  4. Learn about the experience of children being raised by gay/lesbian parents and a higher risk of bullying and harassment facing this group of young people. 
  5. Learn about the experience of transgender children, children who challenge our gender expectations, and mental health disparities facing this population. 
  6. Catalyze thinking and develop action plans for implementing changes that can improve the well-being of children under their care.
