Representatives from our Youth Advisory Leadership Council (YALC) took the reins and co-led two student presentations in January.
Nikolas assisted one of our staff in a dialogue to over 20 students at Killian High School where microaggressions and bullying are prevalent. Nikolas’ life experiences with a joyful transition to becoming male during his high school years gave the students hope and tools to navigate with resilience and optimism.
Neptune and Felix co-facilitated a national conversation around the relationship to gender both academically and personally. This virtual discussion was being held by our partners at Kindness Matters 365 and their high schools across the nation. Participants were so eager to learn more and hear from Neptune and Felix that everyone stayed long after the scheduled time.
Nikolas, Neptune, and Felix each led courageous conversations and continue to provide peer-to-peer support with our young people. After each presentation, students shared that they felt seen, heard, valued, and better equipped to interrupt bullying.
Our team is grateful to our youth leaders, their dedication and proud of their leadership!
