Michael Mio started his career in banking in NYC as a part-time teller during his undergraduate degree at St. John’s University. By graduation, he has worked his way to Regional Manager, VP. This is where he met his first partner and soon-to-be fiancé. Only months after the engagement, he was disconnected from his family after learning of his orientation and two weeks later lost his fiancé to suicide. Michael decided to relocate to South Florida and restart his life. Now appointed as Director for a logistics firm, he was introduced to Yes Institute by his current employer. By being part of Yes Institute, Michael enjoys giving back to his community and peers by sharing his experiences and helping others get through tough times through effective communication and education.
