YES Institute Spotlighted by LOVELOUD Foundation at LOVELOUD Fest in Miami

On December 4, YES Institute had the incredible honor of being spotlighted by LOVELOUD during their transformative LOVELOUD Fest concert in Miami. The event brought together passionate voices in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration.

LOVELOUD, a non-profit organization, is known for its annual charity concerts that amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ individuals and foster connection among diverse communities through the power of music and storytelling.

One of the driving forces behind LOVELOUD is Tyler Glenn, co-founder of the festival. Tyler is an American singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as the lead vocalist and keyboardist of the American rock band Neon Trees. As a solo artist and LGBTQ+ advocate, Tyler’s journey has inspired countless individuals. Ten years ago, at the age of 30, Tyler publicly came out, using his voice and platform to foster greater understanding and acceptance. His commitment to creating spaces where diverse voices are celebrated is the heart of LOVELOUD’s mission.

The evening began with an unforgettable performance by award-winning artist Nicole Zignago. Born and raised in Lima, Perú, Nicole is an artist who proudly embraces her identity, which shines through in her latest album, Escrita. Having started her music career at just 16, she has written for Latin artists and performed across her home country. At LOVELOUD Fest, Nicole’s soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics captivated the audience, setting a powerful tone for the evening.

Between performances, LOVELOUD’s Executive Director, Clarissa Savage, took the stage to share the foundation’s inspiring mission: “To ignite the vital conversation about what it means to unconditionally love, understand, support, accept, and celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends and family.” Following her moving words, she introduced our very own Rodolfo Álvarez, who spoke passionately about YES Institute’s mission and impact. We were thrilled to share our powerful Dear Trans Youth video with the audience, created by our Youth Empowerment Coordinator, NikolasMontolio.

The evening’s headlining act was the multi-Latin Grammy award-winning sibling duo Jesse & Joy, a best-selling pop sensation from Mexico City. Jesse Huerta dazzled on piano and guitar, while Joy Huerta, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, brought unparalleled energy and authenticity. Joy, who came out as pansexual in 2019, shares a beautiful family life with her wife, Diana Atri, and their two children.

We are deeply grateful to the LOVELOUD team for selecting YES Institute as the beneficiary of their 2024 foundation contribution. This partnership represents a shared commitment to fostering understanding, acceptance, and empowerment for the LGBTQ+ community.

Together, we look forward to a future of impactful collaboration and continuing to create a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
