Our unique approach moves people beyond debates over right and wrong so that they can work together, offering new possibilities for powerful partnerships that can include many differing viewpoints.
About 24% of South Florida youth who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or unsure make a suicide attempt – roughly 4 times more than their heterosexual peers. For transgender youth, surveys suggest suicide attempt rates of 40%. 72% of South Florida middle and high school students hear anti-gay and gender-stereotyped slurs on a weekly basis. By inviting people to engage in conversations about the root causes that lead to these outcomes, we have an opportunity to reduce these incidents and even prevent youth from turning to self-harm in the first place.
