YES Institute is deepening the educational services in Southern Florida.

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for children ages 10-19. South Florida students identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender are 4x higher than their heterosexual peers to attempt suicide. The rates are even higher for youth of color. How do we address these issues? Through education and dialogue.

Our suicide prevention work will be expanded into West Palm Beach and Martin County by offering more educational dialogues and Professional Continuing Education sessions that address gender, orientation, race, and other factors impacting the healthy development of youth. Interactive sessions are customized to your organizational needs and utilize a communication framework that welcomes all points of view, values, and beliefs.
