“I really thought of how selfish it can be to hate on others without listening.” – Youth Participant

High School youth leaders from the National Voices for Equality, Education and Enlightenment (NVEEE)’s participated in the 2022 Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit. Ambassadors are taught skills to lead with compassion and dedication while in their college prep programs.

As part of the preparation to provide tangible skills to high school leaders, NVEEE invited the YES team to lead Communications Toolbox. Participants were quick to grasp the concepts and dive deeper into the distinctions.

The students were most inquisitive when broaching highly divisive subjects and wanted to learn how to best approach a person that they personally disagreed with. Each of the Ambassadors genuinely understood the importance of our collective purpose and walked away with tools for healthy and responsible communication.
