US Surgeon General

The Office of the US Surgeon General invited YES Institute to a roundtable discussion on mental health for youth in the Pride community.

2021 End of Year Report

2021 was an impactful year with a marked increase of requests for both dialogues online and in-person. Along with the growing number of families reaching out to us for support, we are thankful and deeply inspired by the increases and renewed contributions from our generous donors.

Cultivating Empathy

How does a high school community build bridges of understanding when uncomfortable conversations arise?

Affirming Medical Care

How do we create inviting medical environments where patients are seen and heard?

First and second year medical students attending South Florida universities are examining this question and taking action.

Youth Leadership

Representatives from our Youth Advisory Leadership Council (YALC) took the reins and co-led two student presentations in January. Our team is grateful to our youth leaders, their dedication and proud of their leadership!

Expanding Services in South Florida

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for children ages 10-19. South Florida students identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender are 4x higher than their heterosexual peers to attempt suicide. The rates are even higher for youth of color. How do we address these issues?

Looking Ahead

The last conversation of the year was brave and powerful. Campbell Drive K-8 Center in Homestead, FL invited us to speak to over 200 students on the topics of gender and bullying. What a wonderful way to close out a successful year!
