How does a workplace create a welcoming culture that inspires and increases the bottom line?
From global business conference workshops to hospitality trainings, our team is digging deep into diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace. Within a month, YES Institute facilitated a dialogue with members of the Greater Miami Convention Visitors Bureau, SAP Miami, and the Praxity Conference in Arizona.
“Great conversation – learnings on diversity and inclusion approach with different generations.” – Praxity Participant
YES Institutes facilitates conversations by setting the context through the lens of humanity, where participants bring their whole selves, all viewpoints, and beliefs, centering progress over perfection. From there our team poses questions that allow participants to share more about their authentic experiences in the workplace.
“I enjoyed the presentation. I think with male-dominated industries sometimes it’s hard for women or people of color to feel comfortable sharing their stories out loud.” – Praxity Participant
When colleagues come from a place of genuine curiosity, our team finds that participants can openly ask questions they may be scared to ask, share their stories without shame, and brave their discomfort as a community.
“I was able to openly speak about my doubts about pronouns.” – SAP Miami Participant
By providing a space where employees can be honest, healthily disagree, and responsibly speak their truth, companies can create a welcoming space where folks of all backgrounds can be their authentic selves.
“I learned best practices for interacting, communicating, and hosting the LGBTQ community.” – Hospitality Participant
Our team hears firsthand from employers who inquire how they can be welcoming of their transgender team members and also find themselves nervous to make a mistake and disrespect someone’s identity. Through our courses, employers walk away with communication tools that provide access to breakthroughs and the opportunity to produce results, even in the face of disagreement.
“Diversity and inclusion techniques for best practices in hospitality targeted to LGBTQ+ training.” – Hospitality Participant
YES Institute understands employee engagement and retention as integral for an increase in production, customer satisfaction, and brand recognition. Company culture aligns the workforce with its purpose and YES Institute provides the expert knowledge and professional guidance to bring each team, department, and organization to its strongest possible level. As Brene Brown shares, “[d]aring leaders work to make sure people can be themselves and feel a sense of belonging.”
“I believe this sort of training should be a part of every industry and company that takes their people seriously” – SAP Miami Participant
