Our 30-Year Celebration was such an exciting milestone — and now, the work continues! This past weekend, YES Institute was welcomed into two community spaces for well-being programming. At Community Rightful Center, team member Tony Martinez, Education Specialist, guided participants through an exploration of the mind-body connection and powerful self-care tools. At St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, we invited participants to create new possibilities for well-being, using curiosity and courage to align with a sense of purpose. One participant shared, “The experience helped me understand ways to find peace and balance amid the challenges of everyday life.”
We also want to recognize Barbara Byrne, LCSW, a 25-year partner of YES Institute, who presented on our behalf at the Florida Suicide Prevention Conference in Tampa in late February. Her presentation, The Critical Role of Family and Community Support in Preventing Suicide Among Transgender and Nonbinary Youth, reflects the heart of the work we believe in. We are deeply grateful for her continued dedication to our community.
