Ayari is the Community Engagement Manager at YES Institute. Ayari is dedicated to ensuring all young people have a space where they belong. Ayari also manages the official social media for YES Institute.
Ayari most recently served as Director of Communication and Social Responsibility for the Overtown Youth Center (OYC). During her time at OYC, Ayari fostered community relationships, entrusting families and youth to her care. Ayari also led gender-based human rights policy efforts in Puerto Rico, on the education system and the prison system. Ayari continues as an active member of the Miami Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
More About Ayari
Ayari has more than ten years of experience with capacity-building projects in urban communities and supporting youth from at-risk locations. She is also a published poet. Ayari grew up on the US/Mexico border where she facilitated conversations that allowed youth to become their own agents of change.
Ayari speaks on panels regarding her own personal experience and analysis on international human rights with an intersectional focus.
