This past weekend, we welcomed families and community members for An Afternoon with Isabelle Camille, author of Sole’s Mom. Joined by her son, Sky Guilbaud, Isabelle shared her journey raising a transgender son and the lessons, challenges, and moments of joy that shaped their family’s story. Her book—dedicated to YES Institute—beautifully reflects the power of open communication, learning, and community support in helping families grow together.
As guests shared home-cooked Haitian food and heartfelt stories, the afternoon reflected what community looks like at its best—caring, curious, and united in creating safe spaces for all families. Through our ongoing work, YES Institute continues to foster these moments of dialogue and learning that strengthen our collective well-being and ensure every young person feels seen and supported.
Our community thrives when we care for ourselves and one another. Join us for our next in-person course, Powerful Communication for Well-being, on Saturday, November 8th from 9am–2pm ET at YES Institute. This session will provide participants with awareness, knowledge, and tools to enhance self-directed well-being goals. Click here to learn more or register for this course.
