Universities involved in research on the topics of gender and orientation generate public health knowledge about important life experiences, such as suicide and violence prevention, mental and physical health, stigma reduction, provider competency and readiness, as well as personal and family well-being.
In addition to contributing knowledge, some studies listed here may include additional benefits to participants, such as gift cards, complimentary counseling sessions, or transportation vouchers. Research Study: Transgender Health Experience
Eligibility: (1) On the transfeminine or transmasculine gender spectrum; (2) can speak/read English; and (3) between the ages of 18 to 64.
Description: We are looking for participants on the transgender spectrum to take part in a confidential, one-time online survey. The purpose of this study is to look at healthcare needs and barrier for those going through a gender transition. No information that could identify you will be collected.

Research Study: The L.I.T.E. Study (Leading Innovation for Transgender Women’s Health and Empowerment)
Eligibility: (1) must be at least 18 years of age; (2) assigned male at birth; and (3) on the transfeminine spectrum.
Description: This is the first cohort study of transgender women and transfeminine people in the United States. This is a cohort study, which means we will check-in with transgender women participants approximately every 3 months for up to 2 years, with incentives given. The Study focuses on sexual health and HIV in order to learn about engagement in HIV prevention and treatment. We will also be collecting data on a wide range of health and social topics.
