In my experiences as a mother, daughter, and sister, I know the darkness that comes with the sense of being different, unaccepted, and alone. I give my time to YES Institute because the freedom to express honestly, be heard, understood, accepted, loved, and valued authentically is a powerful source to fuel a healthy life for everyone, especially youth who are targets of bullying. YES Institute’s approach to sharing knowledge about gender and orientation is skillful, authentic, and powerful. This helps all people connect with each other, feel loved and worthy,…like they belong. Youth will flourish when their need to feel valued by the people in their lives and in their community is met.
