What skills and expertise do you bring to the team?
I am good at researching and structuring information in a way that’s easy to understand. Also, I consider myself a resourceful person. I could be of support by searching for information and statistics, and providing my perception on different issues. In addition, I am a fluent speaker in both English and Spanish.
What has YES Institute done that you’re particularly proud of?
The first time I heard about YES Institute was when my psychology professor had them come out to deliver a presentation around gender and orientation. One of the speakers talked about her personal experience with her transition and how YES Institute helped her to move forward – even in one of the darkest times of her life. Upon hearing this, I knew that I wanted to be an intern with YES Institute.
What learning experience had the biggest impact on who you are now?
Coming to the US gave me the chance to rediscover myself and who I am. Moving to a new place could be hard, but I consider that my experience has helped me to become a better person by being able to grow and be ready for the challenges to come.
