What skills and expertise do you bring to the team as an intern?
As an intern I bring a eagerness to work for YES Institute. I’m willing to work hard and as efficiently as possible on any task that is given to me no matter if big or small. I’m a tech savvy person so working with technology is not an issue and I hope that I can bring a fresh new perspective to the work of YES Institute.
What has YES Institute done that you’re particularly proud of, that had you apply to be an intern?
YES Institute clearly states their mission on their website and it really resonated with me. Helping to prevent the bullying and suicide of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender youth is something that I see as very important. Youth are our future, so if they’re treated with respect and dignity, they will carry on those values as an adult. Not only that but more of them will be able to actually make it to adulthood in the first place.
What learning experience thus far, has had the biggest impact on who you are now?
The learning experience that has had the biggest impact on me has been participating in Communications Solutions™. It really opened my eyes to how we usually communicate with each other vs an alternative method that is a lot more effective. Plus, it’s a form of communication I can use in everyday situations with anyone.
