Vision - A community in which all youth develop as healthy individuals free of suicide, violence and discrimination.
Mission - To prevent suicide and ensure the healthy development of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and all youth by initiating dialogue, providing education, and creating support systems.
Work - We work in dynamic partnerships with individuals and organizations that have a commitment to creating a safer world for all youth. Schools, parent groups, healthcare settings, justice departments, clergy, and non-profit organizations contact YES Institute seeking non-confrontational communication and innovative education and training on gender, orientation, leadership and communication.

- Dialogue for Purposeful Action
YES Institute helps people begin a dialogue on gender and orientation, focusing on the shared purpose of safety for all youth. We facilitate open, inclusive discussions that honor all points of view. YES provides trained facilitators and speakers to organizations and individuals struggling with these topics or silenced by fear.
- Powerful Education Courses
YES Institute offers groundbreaking innovative workshops on gender, orientation, communication and leadership. Universities from around the country seek our materials as the most up-to-date and innovative on these topics.
YES Institute courses are open to everyone and offer Continuing Education Units (CEU) to teachers, counselors, registered nurses, clinical social workers and mental health professionals. YES Institute is accredited by the Florida Department of Health, Miami-Dade and Monroe County Public School Systems/ Department of Education, Roaring Fork Schools in Colorado and the North Georgia College and State University as a Continuing Education Provider.
- Youth Leadership Training
YES Institute Communication Solutions for Students Course was created specifically for young people. This training empowers youth to create change in their environments and connect authentically with their families. Their life experiences become powerful testimony that makes a difference, not something they need to resist or endure. Youth learn to use the power of their own voice as speakers for YES, and often continue to become workshop leaders.

YES Institute Working Unity Workshop is an innovative course that redefines diversity and moves beyond the call to “celebrate differences” by revising it to “generating new levels of understanding and relatedness”.
This is a fundamental shift, from what we think to how we think about race, gender, orientation, and all notions that separate us.
Working Unity is a customized training workshop delivered in the context of a particular corporation’s environment, policies and needs. This workshop is designed to help businesses provide a workplace environment where all employees relate authentically and work together productively.
- Replication and Leadership Training
YES Institute Mentoring Model Program is offered to individuals and organizations seeking to replicate our models in their area or community. This program includes a format to replicate YES Institute models, education and resource materials, communication and leadership training, “train the trainer” education and ongoing coaching.
