Many begin new projects with great ideas, lots of passion, and tremendous effort. However, people become inhibited by fear or stopped by obstacles. Some are highly effective in one area, but not in others, and don’t know why. This course provides the keys to getting in action, producing results, and being an extraordinary leader. We share the guiding principles and lessons learned that have made YES Institute a successful and thriving nonprofit for 20 years.
During Leadership in Action, you will learn and critically analyze ten foundational principles of leadership. You will be able to distinguish organizational “wants” vs. “needs” as they relate to the strategic goals of your project or mission. Not only will you clarify and hone the wording of your vision, mission, and purpose statements, but you will also learn how to embody those statements with certain, clear action, even in times of uncertainty.
Who should take this course:
- Professionals who feel limited in their ability to produce the results they are committed to producing
- Young people embarking on new educational or career endeavors
- Anyone with a big commitment to make a difference, and who feels “stuck” or afraid to take action
- Leaders facing obstacles in realizing their vision, or who struggle to enroll others in getting involved
